Cebu City is now officially getting ready for its biggest religious celebration, the Fiesta Señor or the feast day of the Sto. Niño, and of course the Sinulog Street Parade! The Dawn Procession which practically signals the start of the Celebrations leading towards sinulog happened last January 5 at dawn of course.
It kicks off at dawn (4AM) with the penitential foot procession “Walk with Jesus” from Fuente Osmeña through Osmeña Blvd. to Colon St., leading to the Basilica.
The first day of the nine-day novena masses in honor of the Sto. Niño will be on Thursday, January 5, at the Basilica del Sto. Niño then various masses will follow dedicated to specific topic-intentions. This procession could have easily reached 100,000 but who knows, it seemed to be more than that.
